Todd & Julie Chrisley ‘prayer’ judge will be ‘lighter’ on sentencing for fraud and tax charges
Todd and Julie Chrisley convicted bank fraud and tax evasion on June 7, and understandably the couple are reeling from the legal blow. Now, a source close to the family says they are simply “shocked.” Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, received devastating news from an Atlanta federal grand jury yesterday and is now absorbing the impact. They face up to 30 years in prison.
“The whole family currently in shock,” the source said HollywoodLife ONLY. “Todd and Julie are just devastated by the verdict, as are their children Savannah, Chase, Grayson, Lindsieand Kyle. All are counting on each other to support during this difficult time.”
The source explained that Todd and Julie do not expect a guilty verdict for the alleged four-year conspiracy to defraud banks and hide money from the IRS. “This is not a ruling that any of them expected and as their attorneys say, they plan to appeal,” they continued. “Although they are grateful to be under house arrest pending sentencing, staying at home all this time will not be easy for them as they are busy people. There are many unanswered questions regarding their future – as a family and as reality TV stars. ”
The couple will receive their sentences in October, but until then, their conditions of bond include house arrest. In the meantime, the source told HL that the future of Chrisley knows the best and its subsection is uncertain – and they are indeed praying for a possible outcome. “The US network has yet to decide if they will continue with season 10 of Chrisley knows the bestOr with Chrisley grew up,” they said. “They are all praying that the court will go easy on them when the time comes, given the fact that they believe they have done a great job in terms of world entertainment and allow cameras into their homes to document their lives. “
The couple was initially prosecuted back in August 2019 –however, a new indictment was filed in February, leading to a conviction on Tuesday. Chrisley knows the best made the family famous again in 2014 when it first premiered at USA Network. The 10th season of the popular reality show is scheduled to begin later this month.
