Ayushmann Khurrana on Upcoming Release Anek: This Is Not A 100 Crore Movie, It’s an Important Movie

Ayushmann Khurrana will soon reunite with his Article 15 director Anubhav Sinha cho Anek. The film, which revolves around the northeastern tensions of the country and its people, will see the actor-director address another social issue. In a recent conversation with ETimes, Ayushmann shared about making an important film like Anek as well as his love for Fahadh Faasi and Malayalam cinema.

Speaking of striking balance at the box office, Ayushmann said, “Dream Girl, Badhaai Ho and Bala are light films. Action hero is a commercial film. When asked what he likes to watch, Ayushmann added, “I watch all kinds of theaters. I love to see Malayalam theaters. I’m a huge fan of Fahadh Faasil. His films are non-commercial. He listens to his heart. I listen to Malayalam songs, Bengali songs. So I think every genre of cinema is important. You need to know more about your country than you know about world cinema. the person you’re trying to connect with.”

Ayushmann adds that it’s extremely important to stay on top of your audience’s pulse by sticking to your roots. He said, “To make cinema successful, you need to know your country better than world cinema. There is no greater success than being a spectator as well as the creator of a work of art. your art. That’s what I feel.”

When asked if his love for Malayalam cinema would help him explore opportunities to go South or produce-direct a project, Ayushmann revealed that he misses his music. “I want to make music. I miss my gigs and songs,” the actor commented.

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Anek is scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2022.
